The first steps

Start simple. Keep moving.

01

Pick a starting lane

Choose one or two topics you already enjoy or know well. Make content in formats that feel natural, such as demos, unboxings, tutorials, reviews, or day-in-the-life clips.

02

Make a few sample videos

Create three to five short examples with products you already own. Open with a clear hook, show the product, explain one benefit, and close simply. Label samples honestly.

03

Build a simple portfolio

Collect your best clips on one easy-to-share page. Add a short intro, the content formats you offer, and a contact method. Share only work you have permission to show.

04

Set up creator profiles

Complete profiles on the UGC marketplaces you use. Add a clear photo, concise bio, relevant examples, and accurate availability. Check each platform’s current requirements.

05

Apply and pitch consistently

Apply to relevant briefs and send specific pitches. Explain why the product fits, link one or two examples, and name the deliverable you can make. Track follow-ups and outcomes.

06

Agree on the work first

Confirm deliverables, deadline, payment, revisions, usage rights, exclusivity, and file delivery in writing. Price for the scope and usage requested.

07

Deliver, learn, build proof

Follow the brief and deliver in the requested format. Ask for feedback and permission to feature the work. Track what performs well and carry those lessons forward.

08

Disclose referral links

If you recommend a marketplace with an affiliate or referral link, clearly disclose the relationship beside the link and use only links issued to your account.
